Against Socialized Healthcare

There is an excellent article printed yesterday in SmartMoney.com called “Socialized Medicine Threatens Heath of Dollar”. Writer Jonathan Hoenig point “Yes, U.S. health care is problematic, but not because it’s a for-profit capitalist system. The problem stems from it not being capitalist enough”.

    The question to me is, how DO we make it more capitalist so that the inefficiencies get ironed out?

    We get government OUT of healthcare and that will bring back the capitalistic component. It amazes me the amount of people who eat up the propaganda as gospel instead of doing a little research on their own. People SAY that healthcare is so important to them, but they don’t want to pay for it themselves. Well, then it’s not that important, is it? They’d rather buy trophy homes and expensive cars and toys than pay for their health. But, I’m elated to see that there are more people than I thought against socialized healthcare. Hopefully, somehow we can find a way to protest it together.

    Canadian healthcare is a for-profit operation. But still everyone can get their healthcare. It’s a single-payer system, not socialized medicine. If you don’t like a doctor, you don’t have to go to him - go to someone else. The government pays the bill. The best doctors win out. But what’s for sure, some suit running an insurance company doesn’t see a dime.

    Also, the principle of insurance is NOT that “you pay for it yourself”. That’s not how insurance works. You take care of people who need it. It’s like if somebody’s house burns down, insurance is there so that the entire community helps out and pays for the replacement of the house.
