Awesome - congrats man.
I loved having a girl first - no that I had any choice…
Incredible video - watching those legs move around, and seeing that heartbeat so rapidly. It’s no wonder they call it the miracle of birth.
Start putting money into that 529 plan

Thanks all! Yup, first child and with her grandparents looking to spoil it, we had to find out early so they can prepare to paint and buy clothes..

That’s the single most adorable baby I’ve ever seen. She’s moving and her little heart is
beating. I am kvelling!!

Congratulations!
Will this be your first? I got similar news last month, we are due in December. Unfortunately, we don’t know if the baby will be a boy or a girl.
If you have any tips for others, like myself, about pre-fatherhood… I am all ears!

CONGRATS!
Your life is about to change my friend. Welcome to being the father of a beautiful little girl. Just as mine has done, I await the day that she steals your heart and lovingly demands every minute of your free time… (which you will welcome every moment of).
Best of luck to both of you. Happy Mother’s Day!
Top 5 Tips:
1. Pick your battles. Some things aren’t worth fighting about.
2. Get down to eye level when you speak.
3. Reason with your child, never yell. Even before you think they understand English, they do. That is, at least they understand emotion and have the ability to reason very, very early.
4. Let them play, try, and even break things. It’s how they learn.
5. You have date night with your wife, right? Now it’s time to add family day too. Spend every Sunday going to breakfast, to the park, …whatever. Just set aside the time and do it.

One more thing in response to Greg…
Tip#6
Yes, start that 529 plan right now. When our daughters go to college it may cost up to $500k!!!
Start stashing about $500/mo. if you can.
Think of it this way. If you do a good job for the next 18 years she might get a scholarship and you can retire early on her 529…. or you can just get that new 2025 Corvette and a fresh comb-over. Ha!

Congrats. My wife and I just had a baby girl as well. Many late nights, but hey, its not a problem when you work for yourself right?
