Adult Swim Cartoon Network Boston Bomb Scare

Little circuit boards with lights were found in a few places around Boston as part of a promotional campaign for an Adult Swim Cartoon show called “Aqua Teen Hunger Force”. Turns out citizens of Boston reported these devices to the police thinking it was some sort of terrorist bomb.

Subsequently Boston officials practically shut down Boston ’s major roadways and subway lines for the day trying to figure out what these devices were. I’ve been watching news reporters go crazy about this all day on television.

Now knowing that these devices were for some promotional publicity stunt by Time Warner all I have to say is KICK ASS LINK BAIT!

I suppose someone might lose their job over this.

Watching the local (philly) news tonight, it looks like they did this in a number of cities.

There were more than 50 of these signs in Philadelphia, and some very unhappy looking people taking them down. Supposedly, they were put up weeks ago.

they overreacted First off bombs would not be attached to glowing neon signs. What was boston thinking…plus seattle never complianed and they had the signs too!!!

cmon pple we can’t live our lives thinking that evry single thing we find werid is a bomb we must first investigate before calling a state wide panic.Thinking before acting should always be employed.

I wonder what the idiot who hit the panic button was thinking. Only a complete idiot would hit the panic button on something like that. If you see something that would only look like an evil genius would do it is probably not a bomb. Real life is not TV or the Movies. There are no super evil guys out there that make elaborate plots to blow up Boston. They need to put a more intelligent person in charge of the panic button. Every major city needs to be very careful about their panic button. This cost the city a lot of money and will again in the future if they don’t get a hold on the rules of when to panic. The city of Boston were made to look like fools and they are just lashing out because of it.

I see in today’s papers that Turner Broadcasting System will be paying Bean Town $2mil as a fine to cover the costs of the emergency services incurred by what must rank as one of the greatest marketing promotions ever; Time Warner is getting a great deal. Of course, the whole thing - a casual yawn in every other city in the U.S. - would have remained a quiet, inside joke had the numbskull squad in Boston been off-duty. Three cheers for chumps!
