I've tried the Google Reader, but have gone back to having them all on the Google Home Page, simply because I felt I was missing out on some important posts.

Hey Graywolf, that’s a great point about Google possibly using Google Reader blog subscriptions as an indicator of quality / trust. Thanks for the sage tip for firefox. I will definitely check that out!

The "I'm behind by X minutes" is a big part of why I stopped using bloglines. Although for other people who aren't RSS fiends I still recommend it as a good place to start. Personally I use sage in my sidebar window in firefox.

As a side note I wonder if having a "significant number" of people subscribed to your feed with google reader will/is/could be used as an indicator of quality/trust.

I have switched all my rss feeds on my google personalized page to the Google Reader (http://www.google.com/reader/view/) on my page and it appears to me that those feeds are updated a lot more regularly. I love having all my feeds in one place now.
